Our Process

Make Your Wealth Work for You with Our Comprehensive Framework

It’s important to both identify and prioritize what you are hoping to achieve before you can efficiently allocate resources to make it a reality. Our comprehensive framework is designed to create, cultivate and conserve your wealth.

Step 1

Allocate

Plan your retirement income streams and spending priorities. Leverage holistic planning to maximize income, optimize cash flows, protect assets and allocate resources to meet your objectives.

Step 2

Grow

Protect growth while managing risk as retirement nears. Prioritize tax-efficiency and liability matching to maximize returns, diversify assets, and position investments for optimal growth.

Step 3

Conserve

Reduce tax drag so more of your income stays with you. Safeguard your hard-earned savings by minimizing tax drag and leveraging every available tax advantage so more money stays in your pocket.

So What Does It Cost?

We believe in simple, transparent pricing—no hidden commissions or surprise costs.

We establish a minimum fee based on how complex your situation is and primarily earn fees on investments we manage (AUM Fees)—this is your minimum annual retainer fee. This is determined prior to working together, and is reviewed and adjusted annually as your situation evolves with your written agreement. The minimum fee will not change during the course of the year and your first year will be prorated accordingly, if applicable.

In order to provide the highest level of service, there is generally a $10,000 annual minimum fee to retain the Integrated Wealth Management services of Cavalot Capital.

How Do You Determine “Complexity”?

Based on how complicated your financial life is. A couple with multiple businesses, equity compensation and rental properties doesn’t require the same firm resources as a single employee on salary.

So You Might Be Wondering…

If you don’t see the answer to your question here, let us know.

How often and how will we meet?

In the beginning we will typically meet 3-5x and after that it depends entirely on your preference. We have some clients that like to do monthly check-ins and others that prefer to only meet when they have life events that have altered their goals or changed their circumstances. We are always available to answer questions and provide guidance on anything financial.

We can meet in-person either in Tahoe or Redding, via video or phone.

We typically work as a team with Ted handling most retirement clients and Damian handling more complex planning, tax and investment matters.
